Teacher Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at JPS Cascades Elementary as a Teacher Assistant. In this full-time position, you will support classroom activities, assist in the educational development of students, and contribute to creating a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities. Provide support to students during classroom instruction, ensuring they understand the material and stay engaged. Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment. Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning concepts and provide individualized support as needed. Assist in preparing instructional materials and setting up classroom activities. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher. Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing necessary accommodations. Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods, ensuring their safety and well-being. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in education or related field preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and development. Basic understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies. Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
