Overview We are actively hiring Registered Nurses across the following Medicine units: EP 4-6 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry EP 4-7 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry EP 6-7 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry EP 7-5 – Adult Acute Care Renal Specialty Medicine with Telemetry EP 8-8 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry EP 9-5 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry EP 9-7 – Acute Care Infectious Disease Medicine with Telemetry EP 10-6 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry EP 10-7 – Adult Acute Care Medicine Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit with Telemetry Responsibilities The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Core duties include: Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individual patient care on the unit according to policies and procedures. Providing supervision of non‑RN personnel and delegating unit activities when acting as charge nurse. Assisting with staff distribution across units as required. Evaluating patient physical and psychosocial conditions continuously throughout the continuum of care. Developing, communicating, and documenting individualized plans of care and coordinating care with the health‑care team. Revising plans of care as needed and making referrals where indicated. Planning and delivering education tailored to patient and family learning needs. Serving as a preceptor for new staff and acting as charge nurse when appropriate. Meeting performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, staff and self development. Maintaining competency in neuro patient care, airway management for neuro patients, tracheostomy suctioning, and use of equipment for patients with halo braces. Participating in the organization’s teaching program and other special neuro procedures. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Proficient with electronic patient records and use of computer software for literature searches. Valid State of Connecticut registered nurse license. BLS certification required.
