Senior Creative Strategist

Job Description Our client is a self-funded, performance-driven DTC pet brand. Self-funded means no outside capital, no VC timeline, and no one propping it up for a fund. They operate what they own, move quickly, and pay close attention to the things that make a brand work: the product, the creative, the funnel, the unit economics. The brand has strong traction across Amazon, TikTok Shop, and DTC with hundreds of thousands of customers across North America. Compensation $130,000 - $160,000 + performance bonus (uncapped) The Role We're hiring a Creative Strategist to own a pod of AI video editors and turn briefs into ads that convert. You report to the Head of Performance Creative and you own your pod's output end to end: concept, script, hook, direction, iteration. The numbers side of this business is covered. What's not covered is the thing the numbers side is permanently starving for: a steady pipeline of test-ready paid creative shipped fast enough to stay ahead of fatigue on Meta and TikTok. Most of it will be AI-generated video. Your job is to make sure it converts. Why This Role Matters Creative volume is the growth ceiling. Growth can scale spend faster than the team can produce ads worth scaling. Every week without fresh concepts is CAC drifting the wrong way. This role feeds the machine. What You'll Own Concepts, scripts, hooks, and briefs for your editors, across Meta and TikTok Direct AI video output: realism, style consistency, pacing, the hook in the first two seconds Brief-to-live turnaround measured in days A structured testing rhythm: net-new concepts plus systematic iteration on winners Performance Fluency Live in the dashboards: hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS Turn last week's results into this week's briefs without being asked Know a creative problem from an offer or audience problem, and own the first one AI & Workflow AI video generation is the default, not the exception; you know the tools well enough to direct people using them Watch competitors' ad libraries weekly and out-ship them Who You Are Hands-on creative background: you came up as a copywriter, editor, or creator, and you can still do the work 3+ years in performance creative for paid social at DTC or ecom brands, or at a DR agency, and you've personally moved CPA or ROAS You've briefed editors and directed creators and shipped volume through them You speak in creative metrics unprompted: hook rate, hold rate, win rate You've used AI video tools yourself (Runway, Kling, Veo, HeyGen) and know what they're good and bad at Pet, health, or wellness experience, or you can show us why your category transfers US business hours, self-directed Who You Are Not Brand or awareness creative that was never accountable to a CPA An agency generalist who hands the brief off and moves on You've never made the creative yourself, only managed people who do AI video is something you're planning to learn What We Bring A profitable, self-funded brand with a Head of Growth ready to spend against everything you ship A Head of Performance Creative who's built this before and will coach you Full ownership of your pod Remote-first, your work in the P&L every week One Last Thing If you're reading this thinking "I already do this at an agency for six brands and I'd rather do it deep for one," this role is for you.
