Title: Mobile Events Store Team Member.

Location: Various event locations across Atlantic Canada.

Employment Type: Seasonal Contract (April – September)

Hours: Weekends Only (Thursdays Mornings to Sunday Evenings).

Requirement: 21 years of age, valid drivers license, clean driving record.

Sportwheels Sports Excellence is an independent sporting goods store located in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Family-owned and operated for over 75 years, we are a Giving Forward business that helps provide equipment and registration for children in need across Atlantic Canada. We believe in building a stronger and more active community, and we are looking for passionate individuals to help us achieve our goals through our Mobile Events Store and Events Team.

POSITION OVERIEW

As a member of the Sportwheels Mobile Events Store, you will represent our brand remotely at events all across Atlantic Canada. This is more than just a sales job – it’s about creating a fun and engaging environment at a broad range of sporting and community events.

This seasonal contract position requires availability on weekends, Thursday mornings through Sunday evenings. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate the Mobile Team Van. If you cannot commit to weekend availability during the months of April to September, please do not apply. Applicant background in Baseball/Softball is an asset, but not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Event Setup and Engagement: Set up event tents, and mobile store, actively engage with customers, and maintain a fun and energetic atmosphere. Stand in front of the counter, mingle, and connect with people – no sitting down or passive interactions.

Sales and Customer Service: Conduct face-to-face sales while upholding Sportwheels' brand standards.

Cash Handling and Reporting: Balance registers, customer payments, cash out tills, and ensure the payment terminal is charged and powered on before and after each event.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of 2-3 people to ensure event success, including traveling together to event locations.

Travel and Logistics: Travel to various event locations across Atlantic Canada. All travel time is paid, including transportation to and from events. Travel logistics are managed by the Sportwheels Operations Manager in advance.

Requirements

Weekend Availability: Must be available Thursday mornings to Sunday evenings, from April to September (possibly extending to October).

Valid Driver’s License: Required to operate the Mobile Team Van, with a clean driving record .

Outgoing and Engaging Personality: Must be energetic, social, and proactive in engaging with customers at event participants.

High Energy and Self-Directed: Able to work independently and take initiative while maintaining a positive, energetic demeanor.

Team Player and Leader: Must be highly organized and a natural leader who enjoys working in a team environment.

Age Requirement: Due to insurance requirements, candidates must be

21 years of age or older .

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Wage: $17-$20 per hour, compensation is based on experience. This rate is exclusive for mobile events worked.
• Travel Perks: Expenses paid for weekend trips, including vehicle, hotel, and approved expenses.
• Meal Allowance: Reimbursement for up to 3 meals per day while on the road.
• Staff Discounts: Access to aggressive staff discounts after 90 days.
