Job Summary Amazon Web Services seeks a self-starter to lead revenue generation in the Federal Cloud Computing business. A team player focused on increasing awareness and adoption of AWS by engaging with Federal clients and with the ecosystem of solutions providers who are reinventing their IT strategy. As an Account Manager you will help drive growth and shape the future of emerging technology. Your responsibilities include developing and managing a growing customer base across the US Department of Education and other civil agencies, driving business and technical relationships, launching customers at a rapid rate, and defining and pursuing key cloud-related opportunities. You will determine the most effective go-to-market strategies and collaborate with Commercial Sales, Legal, Marketing, Product, Contracts and Executive leadership. You will establish deep business and technical relationships by understanding the customer’s mission and environment. You will have day-to-day interactions with these agencies and our ecosystem of partners (SI’s and ISV’s). The ideal candidate possesses a business background that enables engagement at the CXO level, with demonstrated strategic thinking about mission, product, and technical challenges and the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. Position requires US citizenship. Key Responsibilities Set a strategic sales plan for your target markets in line with the AWS strategic direction. Drive revenue and market share in a defined region. Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of business opportunities. Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case. Serve as a key member of the AWS Public Sector team in helping to drive adoption of the overall AWS market and technical strategy. Understand the technical considerations and certifications specific to the public sector. Develop and manage the sales pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers. Work closely with the customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required. Understand the technical requirements of your customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers. Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding quarterly and yearly strategies to align with revenue growth expectations. Manage complex contract negotiations and liaison with the legal group. Accelerate customer adoption and customer satisfaction. Limited to moderate travel required. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of sales experience. 3+ years of technology sales selling enterprise software, networking, infrastructure, managed hosting services, or cloud computing services experience. BA or BS degree. Experience in management of large, complex enterprise accounts or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of exceeding quota and key performance metrics experience. Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication. Solid Technical background in AI, software applications, networking, big data analytic tools, web app development, etc. Direct selling experience to Emerging markets such as Tribes etc. Extensive customer network. Benefits and Compensation The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
