About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Casualty Claims to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management and direct handling of primary and excess casualty liability claims, with a focus on policy coverage and state requirements. This role requires a professional with a minimum of 10 years' of experience in casualty claims, particularly in the areas of contractors, manufacturing and distribution, hospitality, and premises-related general liability claims. The AVP will be expected to work confidently with AI-enabled tools, apply sound judgment, and adapt to evolving technology. Key responsibilities include identifying, evaluating, and analyzing coverage issues, preparing comprehensive coverage letters, and working closely with outside counsel to ensure effective litigation management. The role also involves proactive negotiation of claim settlements, maintaining oversight of outside vendors, and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-exposure and complex claims, excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A Juris Doctorate degree is preferred, and the candidate must have or be willing to obtain multiple adjusters' licenses.
