About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Credit Risk for Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds. This senior leadership role is based in New York and is pivotal in overseeing the credit risk team dedicated to alternative investments. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of VPs, Associates, and Analysts, providing day-to-day guidance, and ensuring the professional development of the team. The role involves maintaining a hands-on credit mandate, including the review and approval of credit memos, ratings, and limits, as well as conducting in-depth assessments of counterparty creditworthiness. The Head of Credit Risk will also be involved in global stakeholder management, representing the Americas portfolio at global risk committees, and collaborating with various risk functions to understand and monitor credit quality. Applicants for this role at The Company should have a minimum of 12 years' experience in credit risk within the hedge fund and private equity space, with a proven track record of team management and delegated approval authority. The position requires a candidate with deep technical expertise in alternative investment credit risk, including the ability to assess fund strategy, performance, liquidity, and manager strength. The role also demands strong leadership skills, global stakeholder management, and the executive presence to represent the team at a senior level. Responsibilities include defining credit terms, negotiating legal documentation, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will be adept at enhancing data analytics and portfolio monitoring tools and will be involved in firmwide projects, including credit policy development and regulatory initiatives.
