Take a look at some of the things the role consists of and send us your resume today!Job Description:The general responsibilities of this position are to service all customers who enter the Doctor's office and assist them with the delivery of exam services as well as the purchase of contact lenses. This person is responsible for maintaining company standards while: answering the telephone, greeting patients, performing the "pre-test", selling contact lenses, communicating Eyemart's specials and everyday low prices, meeting sales goals, data entry into the computer, following A/R procedures, performing I & R (insertion and removal) training, ordering and dispensing contact lenses, troubleshooting customer complaints, filing, and reporting as necessary. The Dr's Tech is also responsible for performing any related work as directed by a Manager or Doctor.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide exceptional customer serviceMaintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, returns, exchangesCompute and process payment transactions/refunds using in-house Point of Sale systemPerform other administrative tasks as assignedProcess insurance claimsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of productsCreate and maintain patient files, following company and HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality.Input customer information into computer systemAssess and interpret patient's needs/wants based upon prescription requirements, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation, and suggest most appropriate products (i.e. frames, lens type, coatings)Sign-in patients. Call and clearly document any insurance eligibility information before any services are provided. Make and maintain patients' charts per local Doctor specifications. File patient charts daily.Perform a thorough "pre-test" as directed by the local Doctor. For example: NCT, auto-refraction, auto-keratometry, color test, brief medical history, visual acuity, load phoropter, etc. Follow the local pathogen control policy as set by the local Doctor.Order and receive contact lenses. Call customers daily for pick-up, job status, and any special order or production delays. Deliver contact lenses to patients. Assist with inventory control. For example: receiving stock, maintaining the merchandising, monthly inventory, loss preventionEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or GEDExperience working in retail, customer service, or salesExperience working in the optical industry is preferredWorking Environment:Work is performed primarily in an indoor retail store settingHigh level of interaction with general publicWork is independently and with patientsEnvironment is often fast-paced and deadline orientedSome exposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be allergenic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energy in the labSkills and Abilities:Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift)Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twistAbility to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to approximately 25 lbsMust possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skillsAbility to operate basic office equipmentAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingAbility to correctly read and interpret prescription specifications and input into computer properly to ensure lenses are cut properlyAbility to multi-taskAbility to identify and solve problems, and facilitate problem solvingAttention to detailTime management skills - ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently when there are multiple customers to assistAbility to deal with stressful situations such as dissatisfied customersAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees
