Dishwasher

ROMY is looking for a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher / Polisher to keep our kitchen running smoothly and our tables looking their best. You'll be the backbone of service — making sure every plate, glass and piece of cutlery that reaches our guests is spotless and polished, and that the kitchen stays clean, safe and organized from open to close. Key responsibilities:

Dishwashing

• Wash, rinse and sanitize all dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment by hand and by machine
• Keep up with dish flow during service so the line and floor never run short
• Operate and look after the dish machine — check water temperature, chemical levels and filters, and report faults straight away
• Sort and put away clean items in their proper places

Polishing

• Polish glassware, cutlery and plates to a streak-free, spot-free finish before they go to the floor
• Check every item for chips, cracks or stains and remove damaged pieces from service
• Handle glassware and delicate items with care to minimize breakage
• Work with front-of-house to make sure stations are stocked with polished items before and during service

Cleaning and hygiene

• Keep the dish area, kitchen floors, walls and work surfaces clean and dry throughout the shift
• Take out rubbish and recycling, and keep bin areas clean
• Carry out opening, closing and deep-cleaning tasks as scheduled
• Follow food safety, sanitation and chemical-handling procedures at all times

Kitchen support

• Receive and put away deliveries when needed
• Help with basic prep tasks (washing and peeling produce, etc.) when asked
• Support the team wherever needed during busy periods

• Previous dishwashing, stewarding or kitchen experience
• Strong attention to detail and pride in a job done properly
• Able to work quickly and stay calm in a fast-paced kitchen
• Reliable, punctual and a good team player
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 kg
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene (training provided)
• Valid health certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Able to follow instructions and communicate clearly with the team

• Shift-based work, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Hot, wet and noisy environment; non-slip safety shoes required
• Regular contact with cleaning chemicals — gloves and protective gear provided
• Mostly on your feet for the full shift
