The Inventory Control Specialist works independently maintaining inventory of warehouse and production areas by reviewing inventory reports and performing cycle counts, audits of various types, and other inventory functions. Communicating results with Department and Plant Management. They will be looked to as the subject matter expert on Inventory Management System (SAGE) and good inventory management practices. They will work with the warehouse and production teams to help them understand the importance of Inventory Control. They will ensure and maintain area cleanliness & organization, paperwork accuracy, and compliance to all company policies, rules, and standards.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to understand basic math concepts.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail required.
• Excellent computer skills to include Excel, Outlook, Word.
• 3-4 years in a warehouse environment and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• 2-3 years in inventory control
• 1 yr. forklift experience and acceptable driving safety record
• Be flexible and willing to work as needed, including weekends, overtime, and schedule changes.

Major Responsibility Areas and Duties

• Accountable for auditing 100% system transactions (Scrap, Production, Shipping).
• Maintains inventory accuracy and integrity.
• Completes variance reports to include research and resolution.
• Retains accurate records.
• Communicates problems / issues / discrepancies with Department and Plant Management.
• Additional duties as assigned by leadership inside and outside of the scope of this position.
• Ability to accurately work reports and keep organized records.
• Ability to collect data, identify problems, establish facts, draw accurate conclusions, and make recommendations to resolve issues.
• Ability to read and analyze reports.
• Ability to process and organize information.
• Ability to write reports and effectively present information from findings to Management.
• Proficient with PC-based reports, data base, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems
• Travel as needed for training or inventory assistance.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

• Constantly remain in either a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods or moving about the plant and warehouse floors, walking, or standing.
• Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
• Constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Constantly work in low or high temperatures, warehouse environment
• Constantly work in noisy environments
• Occasionally move, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Occasionally move objects up to 100 pounds or more
• Occasionally work in outdoor elements such as sun, heat, cold, precipitation, and wind
• Occasionally work in hazardous conditions
• Occasionally work in small and/or enclosed spaces
