Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact supporting students across Carbon and Lehigh Counties as a contract special education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This in-person position offers the unique opportunity to serve as an itinerant teacher, covering various classrooms and student needs, while enjoying the consistency of a 35-hour workweek that aligns with the school calendar.

What we’re looking for:

• Active Pennsylvania teaching license.
• Valid PA PDE certification in special education: Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, and/or Instructional I or II Certificate in an appropriate Special Education subject area.
• Proven experience working with students in special education environments.
• Comfortable participating in the development and implementation of IEPs.
• Flexible to work in various school sites across Carbon or Lehigh County as needed.
• Ability to quickly adapt to covering different classrooms, including short- or extended-term assignments.
• Commitment to in-person instruction only.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide special education instruction in assigned locations, ensuring student support and progress.
• Adapt quickly to new classroom settings, covering for teachers on leave or managing short-term vacancies.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to maintain continuity of student education.
• Actively participate in IEP meetings and implementation, documenting progress and strategies.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.

Assignment Details:

• Locations: Two positions in Carbon County, two in Lehigh County.
• Assignment: August 10, 2026 – June 11, 2027 (tentative; follows school calendar).
• Hours: 35 per week.
• Caseloads include coverage of both day-to-day and extended assignments as needed.
• Pay: $75 per hour.
