Advanced CNC Set‑Up Machinist (Fixtures, FAI & CMM)
Based in: Northeast Ohio
Pay: $29 – $32 per hour, experience‑based + overtime eligible
Kintara is engaged by a leading precision manufacturer to hire a senior‑level machinist who owns the build process end‑to‑end. If you are motivated by mission‑critical parts for aerospace, defense, medical, and advanced industrial customers—and you love turning complex prints into stable, repeatable processes—this is your platform.
MissionTransform complex, high‑mix work into predictable, high‑quality output. You will design fixtures, validate setups, verify dimensions with CMM, and mentor others—while driving continuous improvement across the cell.
Impact Areas- Set up and operate multi‑axis CNC turning and milling centers to tight tolerances.
- Engineer and validate fixtures/workholding for intricate geometries.
- Lead First Article Inspections and complete required documentation.
- Conduct in‑process checks using CMMs, surface plates, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators.
- Resolve machining challenges: tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation, process instability.
- Apply advanced GD read complex drawings and customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate setup sheets, process docs, and production records.
- Identify opportunities to lift throughput, quality, and efficiency.
- Coach and support peers as a technical resource on the floor.
- 10+ years in precision CNC machining with multi‑axis experience (4‑axis and/or 5‑axis).
- Fixture design expertise for complex components.
- FAI leadership and documentation experience.
- Advanced GD&T proficiency.
- CMM proficiency; expert with precision inspection tools and surface plates.
- Strong command of feeds/speeds, tooling, and machining of steel, stainless, and aluminum; titanium a plus.
- Experience within AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar regulated environments.
- Independent judgement and ownership with minimal supervision.
- CAM programming familiarity (Mastercam/GibbsCAM preferred but not required).
- CNC Mills (3–4 axis VMC) including Haas; multi‑axis turning/milling centers.
- Clean, well‑lit, climate‑controlled facility.
- First shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
