Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThe staff accountant will be responsible for daily accounting operations as well as oversight of the accounts payable team. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely invoice entry. The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of GAAP procedures, have strong communication skills, be a leader, have strong organizational skills, and possess self-drive.Role and ResponsibilitiesOversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely invoice entry and statement reconciliationWork with field operations, sales, and other departments to ensure invoice entry processes are streamlined, accurate, timely and documentedCoordinate with sales and field operations to resolve invoice disputesTrain and supervise accounts payable staff, providing guidance and performance evaluationsWeekly vendor payment selectionsPerform various general ledger account reconciliations to include but not limited to cash, credit cards, accounts receivable, sales tax payable and intercompany revenue/expenseAssist in monthly closings and financial analysisMaintain and improve accounting policies and proceduresMay perform other duties and projects as assigned by supervisorQualifications and Education RequirementsProficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OfficeAbility to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication abilities required. This role will interact daily with internal and external customers by phone and email. Commitment to quality communication and customer service are vital to succeed in the role and company culture.Experience in a multi-entity and multi-cost center environmentUnderstanding of general accounting proceduresAssociate's degree in accounting or related field required, bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferredPrior ERP/accounting software knowledge2-4 years in an accounting role required
