Commercial HVAC Design-Build EstimatorBase salary + commission. Expected First-Year Earnings $150,000 - $250,000Full-Time | Portland, OR Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PMFor more than 50 years, Sun Glow Inc. has been a trusted HVAC contractor serving homeowners and businesses throughout the Portland area. As we continue to grow, we're expanding our commercial division and are looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Design-Build Estimator to help generate new business, design HVAC solutions, prepare competitive estimates, and help deliver successful commercial projects.What You'll DoDevelop relationships with general contractors, builders, and commercial clientsGenerate new commercial HVAC project opportunities through networking and business developmentReview construction drawings, mechanical plans, and project specificationsPerform site visits, field measurements, and existing equipment assessmentsDesign and develop commercial HVAC system solutions based on project requirementsPrepare HVAC layouts, equipment selections, and conceptual designs using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, or similar softwarePerform heating and cooling load calculations and evaluate system capacity requirementsDesign duct layouts and evaluate airflow, static pressure, friction loss, and overall system performanceSelect rooftop units, split systems, furnaces, boilers, packaged equipment, and other HVAC componentsPrepare accurate cost estimates, proposals, and bid packagesCoordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricingParticipate in bid reviews, negotiations, and project handoffs to operationsSupport installation teams through project execution, field coordination, commissioning, and final project closeoutWhat We're Looking For3+ years of commercial HVAC project engineering or mechanical design experience3+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experienceExperience preparing commercial HVAC bid proposalsStrong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, system design, and installation practicesProficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design and estimating softwareAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, and project specificationsKnowledge of heating and cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, duct design, and airflow principlesFamiliarity with applicable mechanical and energy codesStrong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skillsSelf-motivated with excellent organizational and project management abilitiesValid driver's license with an insurable driving recordWhy Join Sun Glow?More than 50 years of serving the Portland communityStable, well-established company with an outstanding reputationOpportunity to help grow an expanding commercial divisionWork on diverse commercial HVAC projects from design through completionLong-term career growth and advancement opportunitiesCollaborative leadership team committed to employee successWhat We Offer100% company-paid medical insurance for employee100% company-paid dental insurance for employee100% company-paid vision insurance for employee401(k) with a 4% company matchTwo weeks of paid vacation (accrues from day one; available after 90 days)Seven paid holidays annually40 hours of paid sick leave annuallyCompany take-home vehicleCompany-paid gym membershipCandidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment.
