Cardiac Stepdown/PCU RN - Miami Valley Hospital, OH

Unit Details

• 36-bed Cardiac Stepdown/HRRU
• Ratios: 1:4-6
• Epic charting required

Required Experience

• Stepdown/PCU experience required (ICU experience alone does not qualify)
• Must have CABG and valve post-op experience
• Cardiac Stepdown experience required
• Application must show experience managing a 1:5 ratio in a Stepdown/PCU setting
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience
• Level I or Level II experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred

Patient Population

• CABG, valve replacements, MitraClip, TAVR
• Thoracotomy, pneumothorax, hemothorax, chest tubes
• Advanced cardiac patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring

Required Certifications/Skills

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• IV starts
• Cardiac drip titration
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation
• Must pass online EKG competency assessment before start

Scheduling & Floating

• 48-hour contract
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Traveler is first to float
• Floating within Premier Health facilities and specialty clusters required
