Accountant

We are seeking an Accountant to support our client's accounting team with general ledger maintenance, fixed asset accounting, and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands‑on accounting work and can work independently while taking on projects while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities Review and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end close. Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items. Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met. Analyze account activity and investigate variances or unusual transactions. Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Reconcile fixed asset activity to the general ledger. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting and audits. Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet reconciliations. Support internal controls by maintaining organized documentation and following accounting policies. Partner with internal departments to research accounting issues and ensure accurate financial data. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy. Perform other accounting projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures. Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, or similar. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines in a part‑time environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, construction, or other multi-entity environments. CPA or CPA‑track is a plus but not required. Experience supporting audits and financial reporting.
