Clinical Nurse Operating Room

Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) is an acute care hospital in St. Louis County. MBMC offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. It boasts a 24‑hour adult emergency department and a pediatric emergency department in partnership with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Schedule & Scope One weekend call per 6‑week schedule (rotate days/night) Work 3–12 hour shifts (9:00 A‑9:30 P) 23 operating rooms and 3 robotic surgical systems No weekday call requirement Bonus eligible Responsibilities Promote patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment; educate patients and families on managing their illness or injury including post‑treatment home care and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plan and ensure communication of the care plan across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintain a constant state of alertness and perform all duties in a safe manner; this is a safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s or Nursing Experience: No experience required. Supervisor Experience: No experience required. Licenses & Certifications: RN license. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: None specified.
