Contract | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 4x12-Hour Shifts | Weekdays with Every Other Weekend Required | 36- or 48-Hour Weekly Contract Options Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a diverse adult patient population on a 37-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, including post-operative transplant patients and those requiring cardiac monitoring
• Monitor patients ranging from uncomplicated presentations to sub-critical conditions, utilizing unit-wide cardiac monitoring capabilities
• Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio, delivering safe and effective care in alignment with unit protocols
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Cerner electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to other areas of the facility as needed to meet operational needs
• Participate in orientation activities as scheduled, including computer-based training and unit integration

Required Qualifications

• Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical or Telemetry specialty experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates residing between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Background working in a Level 1 Trauma Center or major teaching hospital environment
• Experience caring for post-operative or transplant patient populations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
