Parts Sales Specialist

The Parts Sales Specialist is responsible for purchasing parts, managing inventory levels, determining customer pricing, and supporting parts sales for both internal service operations and external customers. This role ensures the right parts are available when needed while maintaining accurate inventory and competitive pricing. The position requires strong product knowledge, vendor coordination, and customer service to support efficient shop operations and drive parts revenue.Key ResponsibilitiesParts Procurement & Vendor CoordinationPurchase parts, components, and supplies from approved vendors.Maintain vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.Monitor lead times and proactively order parts to support operational needs.Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying cost savings opportunities.Inventory ManagementMaintain appropriate inventory levels to support service operations and customer demand.Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts shipments.Maintain organized storage areas for efficient access and inventory control.Assist with inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.Pricing & Parts SalesDetermine customer pricing for parts based on cost, margin targets, and market conditions.Process parts orders for both internal technicians and external customers.Provide accurate quotes and product recommendations.Identify opportunities to increase parts sales and improve margins.Operational SupportCoordinate with service technicians and service advisors to ensure parts availability for repairs.Track backorders and communicate delivery timelines.Maintain accurate records of parts purchases, inventory, and sales transactions.Customer ServiceProvide responsive support to internal teams and external customers.Assist customers in identifying correct parts for equipment or service needs.Resolve issues related to parts availability, orders, or deliveries.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical or business training preferred.2–4 years of experience in parts sales, inventory management, service operations, or a related field.Experience in equipment, industrial distribution, or service shop environments preferred.Knowledge & SkillsStrong understanding of parts identification, procurement, and inventory control.Ability to determine pricing and maintain appropriate margins.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Experience with inventory management or ERP systems preferred.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a parts warehouse, shop, or service facility environment.May occasionally lift parts and materials up to 50 pounds.Exposure to shop equipment, noise, and warehouse conditions may occur.EEO Statement: Owen Companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
