Registered Nurse (RN) - ED - Emergency Department - $60 per hour

Overview Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ED - Emergency Department in Bronx, New York. Responsibilities Demonstrate problem solving skills through application of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) on an assigned unit. Provide total patient care with clinical competence. Contribute to a positive and collaborative patient care environment through leadership. Uphold the Registered Nurse role to promote professional growth and development. Participate in unit and departmental quality improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care. Advocate for patients, upholding legal, ethical, and moral rights. Deliver care appropriate to the age and developmental stage of neonates, pediatric, and adult/geriatric patients as required by the assignment. Participate in performance improvement activities and apply CQI principles in daily work. Maintain respect for human dignity in all patient, family, and staff interactions. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing required BS in Nursing preferred Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State (or valid permit) Upon Hire One (1) year of acute care RN experience required; exceptional recent graduates considered Two (2) years of RN experience in Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, or Emergency Department preferred Basic data entry and retrieval system proficiency (Medium) Effective English communication skills (written and spoken) (Medium) OHS Fit Test Required OHS Annual Assessment Required Certification in specialty Upon Hire Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Upon Hire Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Upon Hire Required Infection Control & Barrier Precaution Training Upon Hire Required Details City/State: Bronx, New York Department: ED - Nursing Wakefield Bargaining Unit: 1199 RN Work Shift: Night Work Days: Alternate weekends Scheduled Hours: 7:15 PM – 7:45 AM Scheduled Daily Hours: 11.5 hours Hourly Rate: $60.30 Grant Funded: No For positions with a listed rate, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education, or other factors.
