Description

Compass Government Solutions is currently recruiting qualified Registered Nurses (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) to provide perioperative and recovery nursing support services at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California.

This position supports post-anesthesia recovery care, perioperative services, and patient monitoring in a military medical center environment.

Work Schedule Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 05002300. Shifts provided between Monday through Friday will normally be scheduled for 10-hour periods, not including an uncompensated 60-minute lunch break.

Job Duties:

• Operate in the Charge Nurse role when required
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionals
• Facilitate optimal clinical outcomes related to patient care, quality, and cost effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with MTF policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Perform physical examinations and obtain health histories
• Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals
• Provide health promotion, counseling, and patient education
• Administer medications, wound care, and other nursing interventions
• Collaborate with and provide clinical guidance to members of the healthcare team
• Make patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond appropriately in emergency situations
• Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families regarding treatment plans and patient care
• Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate
• Perform nursing services identified within the Task Order
• Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes

Qualifications

Degree

• Associate Degree in Nursing required

Education

• Graduate from a college or university accredited by: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Registered Nurse

Licensure

• Current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any U.S. jurisdiction
