Job Summary The Program Specialist is assigned to the Building Tomorrow: STEM and Opportunity project based in Jordan. The Building Tomorrow program aims to create a supportive environment for secondary school-aged youth by increasing access to STEM careers and ultimately creating more prosperous, safe and secure futures and communities. The program works with local partners, schools, and the private sector to equip youth with essential soft skills, STEM and digital literacy skills, and diverse exposure to STEM careers. Responsibilities Liaise closely with program partners and private sector stakeholders to support the achievement of program objectives and outcomes. Contribute to the development, adaptation, and delivery of training curricula for teachers and youth participants. Collaborate with the program team to co-facilitate the Training of Trainers (ToT). Conduct field visits throughout Jordan to support program implementation, monitor progress, and engage with stakeholders. Support program monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting activities. Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by manager. We are doers. Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated technical knowledge related to effective implementation of youth skills-building programs in Jordan, including positive youth development and STEM education Demonstrated relationship building and management skills Excellent writing and editing skills with experience in contributing to programmatic documents, such as work plans; quarterly reports; final reports; success stories; talking points; and other types of programmatic documents Demonstrated ability to track and manage budgets and plan both strategically and creatively to meet project objectives Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team High degree of initiative, organization, and attention to detail Commitment to the organization's mission and values Excellent ability to remain flexible and collaborative while adhering to strict deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt course if needed to meet program outcomes Proficient in Microsoft office products Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal communication skills Fluency in English and Arabic Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience Excellent command of English and Arabic Language is required (both oral and written). Demonstrated experience working with local partners and managing or supporting subawards and partner relationships. Experience engaging and collaborating with private sector stakeholders in Jordan to advance program objectives. Experience developing training curricula and co-facilitating Training of Trainers (ToT) programs, preferably in STEM education or youth and teacher development. Daily Tasks Work with a consortium of partners to implement the Building Tomorrow project in Jordan. Contribute technical input into the development and adaptation of program materials. Provide input into the development of training curricula, educational materials, training events, and strategic planning sessions. Contribute to delivering a Training of Trainers. Contribute to work-plans, quarterly reports, final reports, success stories, talking points, and other types of programmaticdocuments. Coordinate organization of program meetings and events, in person or online as appropriate (check-ins, trainings, workshops, working group meetings, etc.). Coordinate and support oversight of sub awardee organizations in Jordan, ensuring their outputs correspond to the expected deliverables. Travel throughout Jordan to participate in program events and meetings. Supply technical assistance in relevant areas of expertise. Work closely with sub awardees including day-to-day communication and ensuring the delivery of the milestones in accordance with the deadlines and indicators set. Maintain a positive and collaborative atmosphere among team members and partners. Interact regularly with industry representatives, government officials, schools, trainers, civil society and media groups, and other program stakeholders. Collaborate with partners to leverage resources and expertise for program success. Regularly collaborate with IREX staff and partners Review financial documents, and other contractors' requests. Support the due diligence process for sub awardees. Contribute to program procurement. Contribute to program reporting and budget monitoring. Collaborate with the program team and partners to proactively gather and use feedback to inform decisions.
