This position reports to theDirector, Philanthropy. General Description The Senior Manager, Individual Giving is responsible for building and managing NCMEC’s formal mid-level individual giving program, with a recommended working portfolio band of $500 to $5,000. The role strengthens donor retention, renewal, reactivation, second-gift conversion, upgrades, and movement into major and transformational giving. The position manages a portfolio of mid-level donors and qualified prospects and translates NCMEC’s individual giving strategy into donor segments, relationship plans, journeys, portfolios, and measurable revenue results. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Senior Manager works in tandem with the Director, Philanthropy; Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising; and the Senior Director, Digital Fundraising. The Senior Manager, Individual Giving owns individual and mid-level donor qualification, portfolio management, relationship planning for assigned donors, portfolio movement, and personal follow-up. Under the Director of Philanthropy, this position also provides writing, reporting, and coordination support for assigned foundation opportunities. The Director of Philanthropy retains foundation strategy, prospect prioritization, and relationship ownership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Mid-Level Individual Giving and Donor Engagement Implement, manage, and continuously improve NCMEC's mid-level individual giving program aligned with NCMEC’s individual giving growth strategy and approved portfolio definitions. Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and qualified prospects, with responsibility for discovery, cultivation, solicitation, renewal, upgrade, and stewardship. Create tailored engagement and ask strategies based on giving history, capacity, interests, engagement, and relationship context. Conduct donor outreach, schedule and lead donor meetings, and ensure timely next steps and meaningful stewardship experiences. Develop and implement strategies to improve donor retention, secure second gifts, reactivate lapsed donors, and increase donor upgrades. Identify and prepare qualified donors for transition to the Director of Philanthropy’s major and transformational gift portfolio. Donor Segmentation, Journeys, and Pipeline Development Use Salesforce, wealth-screening results, giving history, engagement data, and prospect research to identify, segment, prioritize, and qualify individual donors and prospects. Implement and manage approved qualification criteria, portfolio entry and exit rules, movement stages, and handoff processes across annual, mid-level, major, planned, and transformational giving. Manage activation of wealth-screening results, including prospect review, qualification assignments, portfolio recommendations, and follow-up tracking. Develop recommendations for donor treatment, audience strategy, timing, and personal follow-up requirements and implement approved strategies. Partner with Digital Fundraising to translate approved donor strategies into digital campaigns and journeys. Partner with the Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising to review recurring donors and determine appropriate qualification, portfolio assignment, and relationship-management strategies based on engagement, giving history, capacity indicators, and other approved criteria. Conduct proactive prospect research to expand the individual giving pipeline for Senior Manager and Director of Philanthropy, including emerging philanthropists and donors with planned or transformational giving potential. Leadership Support Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, coordinate preparation and follow-up for virtual executive briefings and other approved high-touch engagement opportunities. Prepare donor and prospect lists, relationship context, briefing materials, and recommended next steps for executive and board stewardship outreach led by the Director of Philanthropy. Conduct relationship mapping and prospect research to identify potential connections through board members, executive leadership, current donors, and other relevant networks, and present recommended opportunities to the Director of Philanthropy. Track leadership and board engagement in Salesforce and coordinate resulting follow-up, including stewardship, qualification, introductions, cultivation steps, and recommended portfolio assignments. Partner with Digital Fundraising and Communications team to align donor strategy, audience segments, fundraising objectives, stories, signers, solicitation timing, qualification criteria, and personal follow-up under the strategic direction of the Director of Philanthropy. Coordinate with the Director, Corporate Partnerships on individual-to-corporate and corporate-to-individual referrals while maintaining clear relationship ownership. Foundation Writing and Coordination Support Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, draft assigned letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports in collaboration with program leaders, finance, and subject-matter experts. Coordinate assigned foundation submission and reporting requirements, including collection of budgets, data, outcomes, and impact information. Maintain accurate deadlines, deliverables, and records for assigned foundation opportunities. Support selected family foundation relationships connected to an individual or household relationship, with ownership determined by the Director of Philanthropy. Salesforce, Reporting, and Performance Management Maintain accurate activity, solicitation, and next-step records in Salesforce. Define and use reports and dashboards needed to manage portfolio movement, pipeline, and forecasting. Prepare regular pipeline, revenue, activity, and forecast reports for the Director of Philanthropy. Monitor performance against approved goals, identify gaps in donor follow-up or ownership, and recommend adjustments to improve results. Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and evaluation of investments needed to grow individual giving. Support special projects and development initiatives as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant nonprofit fundraising experience, including at least two years of front-line individual or mid-level fundraising experience. Demonstrated experience building or materially improving a donor program, portfolio, or pipeline. Experience supporting foundation proposals and reports is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated success managing and growing a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, renewal, and upgrade strategies. Strong knowledge of mid-level giving, donor retention, reactivation, second-gift conversion, segmentation, qualification, and movement management practices. Ability to translate fundraising goals into clear donor segments, journeys, portfolios, workflows, and measurable plans. Strong analytical and prospect research skills, including experience using wealth-screening and donor engagement data. Ability to use Salesforce or another CRM to manage pipelines, measure outcomes, forecast revenue, and drive performance. Strong fundraising, proposal, report, briefing, and donor-correspondence writing skills. Ability to work in tandem with Digital Fundraising and Communications while maintaining clear accountability for individual donor strategy, relationship management, and personal follow-up. Excellent verbal communication, presentation, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
