Role Description

\n

The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor is a full-time or part-time , hybrid role based in Columbia, Maryland. This role involves providing individual, family, and group counseling, conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to client needs. The counselor will maintain accurate clinical documentation, coordinate case management services, and collaborate with other providers and community resources to support client wellbeing. Responsibilities include facilitating crisis intervention when needed, monitoring client progress, and participating in clinical team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training to ensure high-quality care.

Compensation

\n

This is an independent contractor (1099) position. Compensation for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs) is based on a 65/35 revenue-sharing model. Under this arrangement, clinicians are compensated according to the revenue generated from billable clinical services. Specifically, LCPCs receive 65% of the billable hourly rate for all approved and completed client service hours, while the practice retains 35% to support operational and administrative functions, including billing, scheduling, technology systems, compliance oversight, marketing, office infrastructure, and other business support services.

For Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors (LGPCs), a 55/45 revenue-sharing model applies. LGPCs receive 45% of the billable hourly rate for all approved and completed client service hours, while the practice retains 55% to offset the additional costs associated with clinical supervision, professional development support, administrative services, billing, compliance oversight, marketing, technology systems, and overall practice operations. This structure reflects the enhanced level of support and supervision provided to pre-licensed clinicians while promoting professional growth and quality client care.

We prioritize efficient revenue cycle management and payroll administration to minimize delays and provide clinicians with confidence that their earnings will be paid accurately and on time.

Qualifications

\n

• Counseling and Family Therapy skills to provide individual, couple, and family-based interventions.
\n
• Psychology and Mental Health knowledge to conduct assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
\n
• Case Management abilities to coordinate services, make referrals, and advocate for client needs.
\n
• Active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) licensure in Maryland, in good standing.
\n
• Experience working with diverse populations and applying trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practices.
\n
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with proficiency in electronic health records.
\n
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related mental health field.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain professional boundaries and ethics.

Minimum Caseload Requirement

\n

The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) is expected to maintain a minimum active caseload equivalent to 10 to 15 billable client sessions per week for part-time and 22 to 25 for full-time . This productivity expectation is established to support client access to care, ensure continuity of services, and meet the operational needs of the practice.

The clinician is responsible for managing their schedule and availability to consistently achieve this minimum caseload requirement through the provision of direct clinical services, including individual, family, or group counseling sessions as applicable. Caseload levels will be reviewed periodically to monitor productivity, identify barriers to meeting expectations, and provide support as needed.

\n

Maintaining a minimum of 10 billable client sessions per week (part-time) and a minimum of 22 billable client sessions for full-time is considered an essential component of the position and serves as a baseline performance standard. Clinicians are encouraged to exceed this minimum when clinically appropriate and consistent with client needs, professional responsibilities, and practice objectives.
