Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance Department, including training, scheduling, and mentoring staff; supervising and planning equipment maintenance; and performing various maintenance duties in a safe environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. 
• Advise and maintain proper parts and tool purchases in addition to service required. 
• Ensure that all equipment and building repairs are conducted by maintenance personnel.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. 
• Instruct and monitor maintenance team members’ work practices and conformance with procedures and company policies. Ensure all documentation is filled in accurately.
• Mentor and motivate maintenance employees to achieve targets. Provide feedback on employee performance to Facilities Manager. 
• Participate, evaluate, and make decisions related to employee training and progression path.
• Be proactive in continuous improvement, 5S, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• In collaboration with the Facilities Manager, establish work schedules and placement of maintenance team members. 
• Ensure that employees are compliant with safety programs.
• Successful ability to perform all duties described in Maintenance Technician I-II but with more independence and authority:
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties. 
  • Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production. 
  • Rebuild machines and overhaul malfunctioning components and attachments.
  • Carry out skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts. 
  • Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and grounds. 
  • Help determine the scope and nature of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
  • Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Perform tests on various electromechanical assemblies using instrumentation, technical manuals and schematics, diagrams, and blueprints. 
  • Inspect component parts to ensure conformance to specifications. 
  • Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware. 
  • Develop, analyze, and test programs for industrial equipment. 
  • Assemble, repair, or rework pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. 
  • Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, fixtures, templates, and scopes. 
• As part of the AROW Global team you will need to understand the AROW Business System policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with a minimum of six years of maintenance-related management experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Must possess leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise staff and interact with employees.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
