German Road Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Operations Supervisor - 118566 Time Type: Full Time Position Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication activities daily. This includes labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring, training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor ensures the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement. Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect operations. Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies and client agreements. Implement and report on cost‑saving measures; provide ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations. Meet all client‑specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to fairly and equitably supervise, counsel, and discipline team members. Provide direction and support to Human Resources; assist in hiring, training and professional development programs. Participate in performance evaluation to recommend promotions, wage increases and other HR activities. Train and evaluate warehouse staff. Plan daily work schedule by reviewing work orders, arrival notices and customer instructions; assess priorities and assign duties. Review pending jobs, plan for reorganization of warehouse space and adjust staffing or supplies as needed. Train new staff or delegate training responsibility; assess trainee progress. Monitor job quantity and quality throughout the day, providing guidance and advice. Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads. Keep Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention on a daily basis. Hold regular meetings with staff to assess status and discuss improvement ideas. Assist in physical operations as needed. Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time. Maintain high motivation in team members to provide highest levels of customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members. Support adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train team members in SOP compliance. Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution or relevant environment. 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Completion of a forklift training program. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with RF scanners. Knowledge of WMS functions. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal). Business communication. Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level for verifying product quantities, counting inventory and performing related duties. Other Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and personnel skills. Effective written and oral communication. Leadership, supervision and planning skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends. Participate in cross‑training metrics activities and serve as a backup when needed. Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to work overtime when required. Tolerance for working in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, education, certifications and location.
