Systems/Project Engineer - CLB Production Integration

Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Responsibilities for this Position Role OverviewThe Systems Engineer supports integration of D5LE2 capabilities into Columbia (CLB) production by aligning technical execution, Program of Record (PoR) schedules, and delivery milestones across engineering, production, and program stakeholders. This role ensures system designs, requirements, and engineering deliverables are synchronized with Columbia-class production timelines and contractual commitments.The position focuses on disciplined execution within the PoR environment, maintaining alignment between development activities and shipbuilder, Navy, and program milestone requirements. The Systems Engineer works across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to identify dependencies, manage integration risks, and ensure technical readiness to support CLB production and on-time capability delivery.This role requires strong systems engineering fundamentals, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) experience, and the ability to coordinate across organizations to support successful transition from development to production.Key ResponsibilitiesCLB Production & D5LE2 IntegrationSupport integration of D5LE2 system capabilities into Columbia (CLB) production planning and execution.Coordinate technical, configuration, and interface alignment between development teams and CLB production stakeholders.Identify and resolve integration risks affecting production readiness, system installation, or fleet delivery.Ensure system baselines, documentation, and verification artifacts support production and fielding requirements.Program of Record (PoR) Scheduling & ExecutionDevelop, maintain, and monitor integration activities within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) aligned to PoR milestones.Ensure engineering deliverables align with key contractual events, shipbuilder need dates, and Navy delivery commitments.Identify cross-team dependencies, critical path drivers, and schedule risks impacting CLB production.Provide schedule status, forecast confidence, and recovery recommendations to program and engineering leadership.Support schedule integration across multiple IPTs to ensure coordinated execution and milestone readiness.Systems Engineering ExecutionParticipate in requirements analysis, allocation, and verification to ensure designs meet system, production, and operational needs.Support functional analysis, trade studies, interface definition, system integration, and verification activities.Generate and review technical products using established standards, processes, and tools.Identify, analyze, and resolve system design or integration issues impacting PoR delivery.Risk, Cost, and Performance ManagementSupport technical planning, cost and schedule risk analysis, and supportability assessments for system elements.Contribute to execution performance monitoring, including SPI/CPI trends and EAC impacts where applicable.Communicate technical issues, schedule impacts, and corrective actions clearly to stakeholders.Stakeholder CoordinationWork closely with IPT Leads, Program Management, Engineering disciplines, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations.Support program reviews and customer engagements to communicate integration status, PoR readiness, and risks.Coordinate with shipbuilder and external stakeholders as required to ensure alignment to Columbia production needs.Build effective working relationships across internal teams and external partners.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesHighly proficient understanding and application of systems engineering principles and integration practices.Experience working within a Program of Record (PoR) environment with contractual schedule discipline.Working knowledge of Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), dependency management, and critical path analysis.Understanding of program execution metrics including EVMS, SPI/CPI, EAC, and CAM principles.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate schedule risk, technical status, and impacts.Ability to manage complex, interdependent assignments across multiple teams.Familiarity with requirements management and system modeling tools.Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.Our Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options:This position is on-siteWhile on-site, you will be a part of the Pittsfield, MA.#CJ2 Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
