Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Certified Surgical Technologists to join our dynamic Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Department. The successful candidates will participate in providing high-quality patient care during cardiac and vascular surgical procedures.

Unit Information

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Patient Care

The CVOR provides 1:1 patient care in the operating room, ensuring a focused and safe environment for all surgical procedures.

Equipment Utilized

• Cardiovascular surgical instrumentation
• Heart-lung bypass equipment
• Endoscopic vein harvesting equipment
• Cell saver
• Surgical microscopes and specialty cardiovascular equipment

Typical Surgical Procedures

• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
• Valve Repair and Replacement
• TAVR Procedures
• Aortic Aneurysm Repairs
• Vascular Surgical Procedures
• Open Heart Surgery

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Experience in CVOR/Open Heart Surgery scrub role
• Proficiency in cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
• Willingness to take on-call responsibilities and respond within the required timeframe

Work Schedule

The regular work schedule includes:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Additional on-call requirements include:

• Some Thursday call coverage required
• Monthly call rotation of approximately 10-12 call days
• Weekend on-call duties rotated among team members
• Must be able to report within established call-back response times

Unit Guidelines

Candidates must participate in a scheduled call rotation and maintain competencies in cardiovascular surgical procedures. Individuals should be capable of working independently in a high-acuity CVOR setting.
