A leadership opportunity overseeing full-scope pharmacy operations in a dynamic acute care hospital environment is available in Chicago, IL. This role entails comprehensive responsibility for clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of the pharmacy department. Reporting directly to hospital administration, the Director will collaborate closely with clinical leadership teams to drive high standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all pharmacy department functions including clinical services, staff oversight, operations, and budgeting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including Joint Commission and CMS requirements
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize pharmacy services and patient outcomes
• Supervise a diverse team consisting of full-time, part-time, and PRN pharmacy staff (approximately 20 members)
• Collaborate effectively with hospital leadership and clinical teams to support organizational goals

Required Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory; verification required)
• Minimum of three years’ experience as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting
• Minimum of three years’ acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive pharmacist licenses

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree strongly preferred
• Board Certification is a significant advantage
• Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency is a plus
• Experience in community or safety net hospital settings is desirable
• Demonstrated success managing multi-level pharmacy teams
• Strong background in Joint Commission and CMS compliance
