Electric Meter Technician - Level 1

Electric Meter TechnicianAs an Electric Meter Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring electric meters and related equipment operate accurately, safely, and reliably. You will perform testing, maintenance, and support activities both in the meter shop and in the field while learning the skills needed for advancement within the metering organization.This position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 2304. The starting wage for an Electric Meter Technician Level 1 is $44.04/hour.What You'll DoIn this role, you will:Test, clean, and repair single-phase electric meters and related electronic equipmentTest current and potential transformersPrepare transformers and metering equipment for field installationPerform meter inventories and maintain accurate recordsRead electric meters and document meter readingsOperate meter testing equipment and diagnostic toolsUse hand tools and electrical testing instruments, including voltmeters and ammetersMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentPerform routine driver inspections and maintenance on company vehiclesOperate company vehicles as requiredPerform other related duties that support metering operationsGrowth and AdvancementAfter six months in the Level 1A position, employees may be eligible to advance to Level 1B.
