Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction

LHH is assisting a client in south Charlotte with their need for an AP Specialist. This is a contract to hire position, with potential to consider a direct hire candidate. Please read on for more details!

Key Responsibilities:

• Process high-volume invoices accurately and efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
• Perform 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and job cost codes
• Manage weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Communicate with vendors and internal project managers regarding payment status and issues
• Maintain organized and accurate AP records and documentation
• Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reporting
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within construction or a related industry
• Experience with high-volume invoice processing
• Strong understanding of job cost coding and project-based accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Strong Excel skills (data entry, basic formulas, reconciliation)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with subcontractors, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
• Knowledge of construction billing processes and job costing systems

Pay Details: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour
