Soni is partnering with a leading professional services organization seeking a Communications Specialist to join its high-performing communications team.

This individual will support communications across designated practice areas and strategic initiatives, partnering directly with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. The role combines media relations, strategic communications, writing, digital content, social media, and thought leadership and is ideal for a strong writer who enjoys translating complex business topics into clear, compelling stories.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and execute communications strategies supporting key practice areas, business priorities, thought leadership, and executive visibility

• Identify compelling stories and opportunities to elevate leaders, client work, organizational achievements, and emerging areas such as AI and technology

• Draft and edit media pitches, press releases, web content, social media posts, award submissions, talking points, and internal communications

• Research industries, market trends, business developments, and complex subject matter to develop timely, informed content

• Support media relations and journalist outreach, including pitching and placement opportunities

• Partner closely with senior leaders, Marketing, Practice Management, external PR partners, and other stakeholders

• Assist with sensitive, high-profile, and crisis-related communications as needed

• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in strategic communications, media relations, or public relations

• Bachelor's degree required

• Demonstrated media relations experience, including developing pitches, journalist outreach, and securing placements

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex business, legal, and technology topics

• Strong research skills and intellectual curiosity

• Excellent judgement, discretion, and attention to detail

• Confidence working directly with senior executives and stakeholders

• Experience with digital content and social media as part of a broader communications strategy

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to professional services, legal, financial services, corporate communications, or other complex B2B environments

• Familiarity with topics such as M&A, private equity, capital markets, disputes, or emerging technologies

• Interest in generative AI and its impact on business and professional services

Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
