Tri State Distributors is currently seeking a dependable and customer-focused Counter Sales to join our Wetumpka, AL branch. This position plays an important role in supporting customers, processing orders accurately, assisting with product needs, and helping maintain an organized and efficient branch operation.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with customers, using a computer to enter and process orders, and assisting with warehouse and product-handling responsibilities as needed. Previous experience in wholesale distribution, building materials, HVAC, manufactured housing, or a related industry is preferred but not required. This position offers the opportunity to cross train in other areas of the branch and develop skills that can lead to future advancement within Tri State Distributors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly and professional service to walk-in and telephone customers
• Process customer sales orders accurately and efficiently
• Assist customers with product questions, availability, and general order needs
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships
• Represent Tri State Distributors in a courteous and professional manner
• Enter customer orders and related information into company computer systems
• Maintain accurate and organized paperwork and records
• Meet company standards for order accuracy and customer service
• Assist with loading customer orders and preparing products for pickup
• Safely operate material-handling equipment as required
• Lift and move products and materials as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store and warehouse environment
• Assist with annual inventory counts
• Cross train in additional branch responsibilities as needed
• Complete other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of customer service, retail, warehouse, inside sales, or related experience preferred
• Crawlspace experience is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter customer orders
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• General knowledge of HVAC, building materials, construction products, or manufactured housing is preferred
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Positive and professional attitude
• Ability to stay organized and maintain accuracy while handling multiple responsibilities
