Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller with strong expertise in data modeling, data analysis, SQL, and Capital Markets . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing logical and physical data models, profiling large datasets, and supporting enterprise data initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, financial instruments, and data quality , along with the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and data engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling

• Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications.
• Develop scalable Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Hybrid Data Models to support reporting, analytics, and operational systems.
• Design and maintain Fact, Dimension, Lookup, Bridge, and Reference tables for data warehouse solutions.
• Define data relationships, business rules, metadata, and source-to-target mappings.
• Ensure data models align with enterprise architecture and business requirements.

Data Analysis & Profiling

• Perform detailed data profiling and analysis using SQL and spreadsheet tools.
• Analyze source systems to understand data structures, relationships, and business rules.
• Identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, duplicates, and missing data.
• Support data validation, reconciliation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work with business users to understand reporting and analytical requirements.

Capital Markets Domain

• Analyze and model data related to Capital Markets business processes and trade lifecycle.
• Understand financial market participants including brokers, custodians, exchanges, investors, clearing houses, and counterparties .
• Work with multiple asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, Commodities, and Securities .
• Support data models for trade capture, settlement, risk management, and regulatory reporting.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to define data requirements.
• Participate in data model reviews and recommend improvements based on best practices.
• Prepare data dictionaries, metadata documentation, ER diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Support ETL development teams by providing source-to-target mappings and data model guidance.
• Assist in production support, data issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 4-10 years of experience in Data Modeling and Data Analysis .
• Strong experience designing Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Hybrid Data Models .
• Excellent understanding of Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, Lookup Tables, and Data Warehouse concepts .
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with large enterprise datasets and performing data quality analysis.
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets , including trade lifecycle, financial products, and market participants.
• Experience with asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange (FX), Derivatives, and Commodities .
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business users, managers, architects, developers, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or SAP PowerDesigner .
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration concepts.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud .
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Banking or Financial Services domain experience is highly preferred.
