The DA will develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data as well as business events within the enterprise and become the subject matter expert (SME) on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the quality and interrelationship between core elements of the data repository and data products. The DA should be able to understand how the information will be captured, retained and exploited.Responsibilities Include:Reviewing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and/or User Stories (Agile methodology), translating them into viable logical and physical dimensional models in SnowflakeProfiling the data in the source system(s) by writing SQL statementsAdopting and conforming to established data modeling guidelines, standards and conventionsDeveloping mapping documents that demonstrate data lineageConducting walkthroughs of the data models with different stakeholdersRequired Skills:7-15 years of experience with information technology programs and services, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise data management and related technologies5-10 years of data architecture experienceThorough knowledge of Erwin Data ModelerThorough knowledge of data warehousing concepts and the ability to create a dimensional designStrong understanding of data modeling best practices including normalization, Kimball methodology, and semantic modelingExperience managing data model evolution, including schema refactoring, column deprecation, and stakeholder alignmentKnowledge of Agile development methodology and conceptsExperience working as a member of a distributed data architecture teamExtensive hands-on SQL experienceGood understanding of the cloud technology and some of the tools used in that spaceDemonstrated prior experience designing and deploying data models to SnowflakeEffective communication and customer relationship management skillsEffective data analysis and profiling skillsThorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of productsPrior experience in the financial services industryDesired Skills:Good understanding of the concepts in the financial industry, especially in post-trade clearing and settlementExperience with any data profiling/data discovery/data quality tool Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (Computer Science or Information Systems)Data management and data architecture related certifications (i.e. TOGAF) is a plusSRI Tech Solutions is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin or citizenship status or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other occupationally irrelevant criteria.
