Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in operating room (OR) within a healthcare facility located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized nursing support for neuro, ENT, orthopedic, and various surgical procedures in a busy surgical environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The role demands a strong background in neuro and ENT surgeries and involves working variable start times during the day shift.

Job Details:

• Location: Milwaukee, WI
• Schedule: Days, with variable start times between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.; minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certified registered nurse (RN) with a valid license, BLS certification, and at least 2 years of experience in operating room settings.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro, ENT, orthopedic, and general surgeries; knowledge of EPIC electronic charting system, EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis equipment; and cross-training to general main OR specialties and urology center.
• Additional Information: Orientation lasting 1-1.5 weeks depending on team and shift. The position is suitable for first-time travelers but requires further approval/evaluation from the hiring supervisor. Experience in neuro/ENT spine surgeries, cranial procedures, ENT surgeries, and use of navigation systems (Medtronic, Stryker, Synaptive) is preferred. On-call responsibilities require a 30-minute response time with an 8-week schedule, potentially subject to change.
• Support on the Unit: Includes charge nurse, leads, supervisors (AMs, PMs, weekends), and manager.
• Charting and Equipment: Use of EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis systems.
