Description Compassionate Substance Abuse CounselorTraineeNeeded! Position Overview Counselor Traineewill be in chargewithassisting patients through medicallyassistingprograms and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions toassistwith crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally,counselorwill evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Addiction counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overalloutcome. Responsibilities: Conducts individualinitialassessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination Facilitates,establishesand reviews with each patient theinitialtreatment plan Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment. Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others Other related duties asdeterminedby supervisor Qualifications: Applicants must currently hold an ADT or ADT eligible status in the State ofMaryland. Previousexperience working with chemically dependent individualsa plus. Mustdemonstratea positive, non-judgmental, andacceptingattitude toward our patient population. Satisfactory criminal background and drug screen Salary Range: Salary ranges from $23.48 - $24.48. (This position is non-exempt, overtime eligible with prior approval) The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, licensure, and training.
