We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support accurate, multi-state, and cross-border payroll operations for over 18,000 employees across 30 companies in the U.S. and Canada. In this vital role, you will leverage your deep understanding of payroll compliance, system integration, and customer service to resolve complex issues, maintain tight schedule deadlines, and serve as a key liaison between business units, HR, and IT partners. Responsibilities

• Process multi-state/multi-employer US and Canadian payroll (18k+ employees across 30 companies) accurately on weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly cycles.
• Ensure full tax and legal compliance with US Federal/State/Local and Canadian provincial regulations, including ACH and Positive Pay banking rules.
• Resolve complex payroll discrepancies, integrating HR data inputs to ensure accurate payroll outputs from hire to retire.
• Reconcile third-party interface data and manual entries from business units.
• Serve as a customer-service liaison, guiding business partners (HR, Accounting, IT, Benefits) on system tools, schedules, and reports.
• Audit and interpret personnel change documentation (hires, salary changes, promos, terminations) to ensure proper authorizations per internal controls and SOW.
• Execute special payments along with their associated tax implications and deductions.
