Overview Job Location: Lawrence, 01841, MA, USA Position Type: Per Diem Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: None Position: Behavioral Technician Supervision: Works under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Summary: The Behavioral Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Clients include children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in home, community, clinic, and school settings. The technician will collect data on programs and assist with parent training. The principles of behavior analysis aim to support patients with socially significant behaviors, including social skills, reading, communication, personal self-care and work skills. Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities Plan and implement intervention strategies using direct therapy, monitoring, and consultation under the supervision of a BCBA. Teach targeted behaviors using specialized techniques that may include reward systems, incidental teaching, and pivotal response training. Record and track data from training sessions. Reinforce positive behavior with children on caseload. Communicate effectively (oral and written) with administrators, parents, and community members. Provide accurate documentation of intervention, goals and objectives. Facilitate transition among agencies, programs, and professionals as service provision changes (early intervention to pre‑school, pre‑school to school, etc.). Identify emergency situations and determine appropriate action to ensure child safety. Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements. Follow prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols. Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA. Other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Physical Requirements Hearing and speaking ability are required to communicate on the telephone. Vision is necessary for entering data. Reaching, manual dexterity, and mobility are required for paper management and operating office equipment. Must be able to speak and write English clearly. Must be able to function independently and demonstrate personal integrity. Flexibility of hours required. Psychological Requirements Ability to recognize tasks to be done and perform them independently. Ability to establish a responsible and trustworthy rapport with staff, including punctuality and notifying for absences or tardiness. Following through on tasks as assigned. Flexibility to adjust to changing work schedules. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints. Intellectual Requirements Ability to learn all Constellation Kids policies and procedures. Judgment skills in processing telephone calls. Organizational skills to establish task priority and meet deadlines. Ability to operate computer, photocopier and telephone. Ability to understand and follow supervisor instructions in written and oral formats. Ability to read, write, and type. Qualifications 21 years of age or older. A bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university AND one year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs. OR An associate’s degree (60 college credits) AND a minimum of two years of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs.
