Staff Accountant

Our client, a global luxury retail company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team. This position will support general accounting, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and sales audit activities. The ideal background includes at least two years of corporate accounting experience, a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and advanced Excel proficiency. Candidates with experience in the fashion, beauty, or consumer goods industries are encouraged to apply!

- Contract Role: temporary to possible permanent opportunity
- Pay: $36-40/hr W2 (No C2C or 1099)
- Schedule: Hybrid, 4 days onsite, 1 day remote, standard 40-hour work week
- Reconcile banking, retail, and eCommerce transactions across multiple systems.
- Manage cash activity and perform bank reconciliations for U.S. and Canadian entities.
- Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies between eCommerce, payment, POS, and ERP platforms.
- Monitor merchant fees, chargebacks, corporate card activity, and employee expense reporting.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses for month-end close.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and IT teams to resolve system and data flow issues.
- Support audits, process improvements, and system enhancement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, consumer products, or eCommerce.
- Experience with high-volume account reconciliations and transaction analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting flows between POS systems, eCommerce platforms, payment processors, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies.
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience required; Navision experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
