Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.Job SummaryPerforms advanced-level accounting duties and tasks for Merrimack Health System.Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain department goals and objectivesAdhere to and promote a strong internal control environment ensuring compliance with GAAP and Policies.Meet deadlines, including tight monthly financial statement close deadlines and audit deadlinesCollaborates with co-workers, other departments leaders of Merrimack Health, and vendors to further the hospital's mission and to understand the entities assigned to the accountantPrepare, maintain and post journal entriesPrepare monthly reconciliations and/or supporting schedules for all the general ledger accounts for the entities that are assigned to themWill review the Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly with Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller and ACFO/CFO.Ownership of designated G/L accountsPrepares new G/L accounts requested before opening gets approval from Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller then completes the building within EMR.Works with the FPA and ensures they have updated the accounting records in the budgeting systemWill communicate issues that arise immediately to the Accounting Manager and/or Assistant Controller for quick visibility.Works with Assistant Controller and ACFO for forecasting the remainder of a year by entityProvide financial analysis and models to management including, but not limited to, variance reporting of the annual operating budget.Federal, State, and private Grant accounting and managementReview budgeted expenses for the entities assigned for month end reviewsAssist in the review of the general ledger month-end close and presentation of the balance sheet and income statement resultsAssist in the accounting and financial reporting of the Hospitals' affiliated entitiesPrepares all accruals for all entities assignedEnsures 941s and al applicable state taxes are filed and paid timelyAssist in the preparation or review of various monthly, quarterly and spontaneous reports as asked for by entityAssist in the preparation or review of various quarterly and annual tax returnsProvide documentation to management and/or auditors to support transactionsEducation And Related ExperienceRequired:Bachelor's degree with concentration or degree in Accounting or Business Management3+ years of Accounting experiencePreferred:Healthcare industry accounting experienceGrant accounting experienceWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce
