Director, Commercial Sourcing & Procurement

Position Summary Director, Commercial Sourcing and Procurement (San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Princeton, NJ) Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develop immediate and long-term sourcing strategies for SG&A vendors (Commercial, IT, professional services). Partner with senior business stakeholders to identify sourcing needs; align strategies with business goals for efficiency and innovation. Assess, benchmark, and negotiate key SG&A vendor contracts; conduct gap analysis. Collaborate with Finance FP&A on vendor cost budgeting, forecasting, and savings validation. Monitor industry trends and procurement technology (e.g., AI) to automate sourcing processes. Establish SG&A vendor governance (optimization, risk assessment, operational performance evaluation). Education/Experience/Skills (Qualifications) 12+ years sourcing experience; leadership managing large vendor spend portfolios. Proven success developing/executing SG&A category strategies in complex environments. Deep vendor knowledge (advertising agency, media, data analytics, meetings/events). Strong negotiation and benchmarking across IT contract types (SaaS, consulting, managed services). Plus: consulting/legal services category sourcing experience. Proficient with procurement systems (S2P/Coupa, CLM/Agiloft, and upcoming AI sourcing tools). Familiar with savings reporting methodology and tools (e.g., Smartsheet). BS/BA or equivalent.
