Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a hospital setting, supporting treatment and recovery processes while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and electrolytes following established protocols.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and document findings accurately.
• Adhere to strict neutropenic precautions and infection control policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Perform routine assessments, including I&O and dressing changes, in accordance with unit guidelines.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, side effects, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong knowledge of hematology, bone marrow transplant procedures, and chemo administration.
• Compassionate personality with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to rotating weekend shifts and on-call requirements.
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical records preferred.
