Database Administrator

Salary: $64,000 - 64,000 per year Requirements:

• Experience with network data backup, security configuration, and access control administration
• Knowledge of planning and implementing information security measures to protect data from accidental or unauthorized loss, alteration, or disclosure
• Ability to train users and respond to questions about systems and procedures
• Experience scheduling, coordinating, and carrying out installation and testing of new products and system enhancements
• Familiarity with database setup, performance monitoring, recovery, and migration to upgraded equipment
• Ability to identify, assess, and recommend hardware or software solutions to improve database performance
• Knowledge of reviewing database management system documentation and applying changes to databases
• Understanding of compliant equipment disposal, including recycling, dismantling, and shredding requirements

• We back up network data, configure security settings, and manage access permissions for groups and individuals
• We plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect information in computer files from accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure
• We train users, answer questions, and support day-to-day system usage
• We schedule, plan, and execute the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, including new databases
• We select and enter codes to monitor database performance and create production databases
• We carry out database recovery and transfer databases to upgraded equipment
• We determine equipment for recycling, dismantling, and shredding in compliance with city, state, and federal requirements
• We identify, evaluate, and recommend hardware or software technologies to improve database performance
• We review procedures in database management system manuals and make database changes as needed
