QAQC Specialist

Responsibilities Inspect jobsites, projects, wind turbines, solar farms, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Climb wind turbines to inspect maintenance practices. Inspect work quality according to contract and process specifications. Coordinate activities with site crews, subcontractors, EHS, and project/plant management. Coordinate quarterly service provider collaboration calls and plant inspections. Work with plants and projects to develop improvement plans based on tracking and trending findings. Cooperate in Event Report Management and implement corrective actions. Systematically record nonconformities or event reports and identify appropriate corrective actions. Manage collaboration of measurement instruments and related certifications. Inform the Project Manager or Plant Manager of any deviations. Check completeness and conformity to specified requirements, standards, and directives. Ensure inspections are conducted and personnel have access to all required project documentation. Make site personnel aware of and train them on quality topics. Ensure, whenever necessary, updates to site quality control plans and control procedures. Qualifications Team player with effective communication skills. Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field preferred; high school graduate minimum. Prior experience with wind turbines, solar equipment, and battery energy storage systems preferred. Willingness to follow all company directives and safety procedures. Six or more years of work in Quality Control/Quality Assurance. Professional QAQC certification; ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or other nationally recognized certification preferred. Ability to read and understand product drawings and ensure compliance with safety and quality expectations set by LRE. Working knowledge and ability to use measuring instruments and test equipment. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Maximo preferred. Knowledge of ISO9001 program elements and ability to transfer that knowledge to actionable items in the renewable energy business. Strong computer, analytical, written and oral communication skills required. Valid driver’s license required. Expected travel up to 75%. Physical Demands Employee will communicate in person, via telephone, email, and use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi‑limb coordination, and comprehension. Will be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely, and climb wind turbine towers. Must complete the Leeward QEW (qualified electrical worker) program within the first year and be a competent climber and trained on all Leeward rescue equipment (e.g., TSL, SRK11, SPARK kit). Work Environment The Quality Control Technician will work in multiple environments—office, warehouse, trailer or building on construction sites, and wind and solar farms. Work sites include light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, tools, and people. Environmental conditions include inclement weather and high visibility requirements (corrected or uncorrected vision allowing clear visibility from twenty inches or less).
