Maintenance Technician

Our client, industry leader in manufacturing, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the operations support team, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
• Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
• Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
• Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.
• Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
• Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
• Other duties as assigned

What's Needed?

• Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
• Excellent planning and leadership abilities
• An eye for detail
• Computer savvy, Information Technology training a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma: Degree from a vocational school will be a plus
• Professional Certifications (e. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
