Head of Analytics / Director/VP of Analytics Full-time The League is a pre‑series A mobile social dating app startup backed by leading venture firms and angels. It is live in six cities, generating healthy monthly revenue, and is expanding rapidly. The Head of Analytics leads the analytics department, overseeing junior teams and ensuring the business understands its performance, identifies growth levers, and optimizes its operations. The role requires hands‑on analytical work and collaboration with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Finance. Responsibilities Build the team: Determine required roles, attract and source candidates, select and close hires, and build a high‑performing analytics squad. Manage the team: Assign projects aligning with highest business impact, mentor analysts, and ensure clear communication of impact. Guide analytical work: Oversee marketing attribution, brand metrics, operational metrics, product driver analysis, A/B testing practices, and financial engine understanding. Drive technology investments: Define and procure business intelligence tools, ETL infrastructure, client‑side tracking, and a unified customer data view. Interface with other groups: Collaborate with leadership, user research, FP&A, data engineering, and data science to align analytics with company goals. Leadership & culture: Establish vision, culture, and policies, champion data‑driven decision making, and mentor key personnel. Qualifications Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent experience (Ph.D. preferred). 7+ years of experience in data analytics or warehousing, with a track record of leading large analytical teams. Proven ability to execute data initiatives that drive performance or top‑line growth. Experience building predictive models, response and risk models, and working with large datasets (Hadoop, Teradata, etc.). Strong communication skills in written and verbal form; ability to create clear, engaging reports and presentations for senior leadership. Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Salesforce, and related visualization tools; knowledge of A/B testing and metric identification. Excellent computer skills with MS Office and data platforms.
