Our client, an Aerospace and Defense company, is looking for multiple Aircraft Painters for their Charleston, SC location. Responsibilities include performing painting of aircraft sections per customer's design and unique livery requirements, verifying aircraft is ready for exterior finish, making necessary patterns, performing layout and applying prescribed primers, paints and finishes to exterior of aircraft, preparing exterior surface of aircraft for painting, and applying aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections.
Requirements include knowledge of adhesive materials and processes, color match, engineering drawings and specs, general shop processes, materials and processing, organic chemical processing, polymers and composite materials, and physical requirements such as lifting, bending, standing, and wearing fall protection gear and safety equipment. Minimum of 1 year of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, or general painting is required, and experience working from heights and using fall protection equipment is preferred.
