Quality Team Leader - Afternoon and/or Midnight Shift

Headquartered in Sterling Heights Michigan, Coplas employs approximately 50 employees. Coplas is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Team Leader in our Quality department.Job Summary & Reporting Structure: Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Team Leader is responsible for ensuring quality requirements on the production floor are met. They will be responsible for maintaining workflows in production by monitoring steps of the process; training production employees, correcting quality concerns and at all times ensuring the ongoing adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System and encouraging continuous improvement wherever possible. This role is to cover the Midnight Shift 11:00pm-7:00am and or/ the Afternoon Shift 3:00pm-11:00pm.Responsibilities:Responsible for the quality of products in accordance with Company Quality Policy and ObjectivesPerform duties that reflect compliance to Company's Quality Management System (QMS) as recorded in the organization's Quality ManualDemonstrate conformance to regulations recorded in supplied Employee HandbookPerform quality inspection duties (first/last off, in process inspections)Train new and existing employeesMaintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate mannerVisually inspect produced parts for defects and reports flaws immediately to managementMeasure and check fixtures, record data in spreadsheets. Perform data analysis to ensure accuracy of production requirements.Disposition nonconforming parts into appropriate container to prevent contamination of finished goodsDetect and report machine malfunctions promptly to management and immediately notify Supervisor or Quality of all discrepancies to established quality checks (ie, sample boards, inspection instructions, Quality Alerts, etc.)Package and transports produced parts as neededParticipate in team problem solving activities (ie, 8D's, communication meetings, etc.)Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety proceduresResolve problems by analyzing data, investigate issues, identify solutions, recommend corrective action in accordance with continuous improvement initiativesTrack and submits statistics on the cost of poor qualityTrack performance of layered audits (e.g. track number of audits completed)Troubleshoot equipment problems to ensure quality and efficiencyAble to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 poundsPromote continuous improvement in all areasOther duties as assignedISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 duties as requiredQualifications:High School Diploma or Equivalent work experience at minimum 2 years prior work experience in plastics or automotive industry is an assetManufacturing experienceSupervision experience an assetCore Competencies:TrainingEffective communication skills, verbal, and writtenComputer skills data analysisAbility to using various measurement techniquesStrong prioritization skills Manual dexterity skillsGood attention to detailCoplas Inc. is proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunity employer.
