Chief Building Engineer

Job Description Job Description Lead Building Engineer Pay: $35.00/hour Schedule: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Building Engineer to oversee daily facility maintenance operations while providing leadership and direction to maintenance personnel. This role combines hands-on technical work with responsibility for coordinating maintenance activities, supporting contractors, and ensuring efficient operation of building systems. Responsibilities - Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities and work assignments. - Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs. - Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. - Support facility operations, inspections, and regulatory compliance. - Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers. - Assist with work order prioritization and completion. - Support emergency response and critical facility operations. - Maintain maintenance records, reports, and operational documentation. - Provide guidance, training, and technical support to maintenance staff. Qualifications - 5+ years of building maintenance, facilities engineering, or commercial maintenance experience. - Experience leading maintenance teams, vendors, or contractors. - Strong HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. - Experience in educational, healthcare, government, commercial, or institutional facilities preferred. - Ability to prioritize work orders and manage multiple maintenance projects.
